Astronauts Aim To Hoist Russian Module From Atlantis

The Atlantis astronauts are aiming today to complete the prime goal of their mission: Delivering a fourth Russian docking port to the International Space Station.

The shuttle's robot arm is about to be employed to raise the Russian module out of the Atlantis cargo bay. Here's the schedule for the rest of the day in space:

6:55 a.m.: Shuttle arm hands off docking port to station’s robot arm.

7:50 p.m.: Station arm moors the craft – dubbed Rassvet, the Russian word meaning ‘dawn’ – to the Russian module Zarya, which is Russian for ‘sunrise.’

2:25 p.m.: Media interviews with MSNBC, Fox News, CNN.

2:45 p.m.: Procedures review for second spacewalk.

5:15 p.m.: Spacewalkers Steve Bowen and Mike Good camp out in U.S. Quest airlock.

6:20 p.m.: Station crew sleeps.

6:50 p.m.: Shuttle crew sleeps.
