Live in Orbit: Former Mel High teacher to spacewalk

Former Melbourne High teacher Joe Acaba today makes the third and final spacewalk of the shuttle's 13-day mission.

Acaba, together with fellow "educator astronaut" Richard Arnold are set to begin the spacewalk at 11:43 a.m. Keep your page refreshed on FLORIDA TODAY's Flame Trench space blog for live updates. You can also watch it live here by clicking on the NASA-TV image on the right side of the page.

Houston's Mission Control Center woke the crew bright and early this morning at 6:43 a.m. by playing "Ain't Nobody Here but Us Chickens" by Louis Jordan.

It was played for Discovery astronaut Steve Swanson. Swanson said he had his children to thank for the choice.

The song, for those of you who don't know, was a popular feature on the Muppet Show.

Today's spacewalk is expected to last 6.5 hours. Acaba and Arnold are tasked with relocating a cart that moves along the rails of the station's truss and attempting again to deploy the unpressurized cargo carrier attachment system, among other tasks.
