Isakowitz no longer contender for NASA top job

Another name fell off the shortlist of possible candidates to be the next NASA administrator.

Steve Isakowitz, a former NASA official, will stay on as Chief Financial Officer at the Department of Energy, President Barack Obama announced.

Isakowitz had been tipped as a possible contender for the space agency's top job.

Last week, retired Air Force Gen. Scott Gration also came off the list after Obama said he planned to appoint him to be his special envoy to Sudan.

Other names on the list of possible contenders include former astronaut Charles Bolden Jr. and retired Air Force general Lester Lyles.
