Cool video: Time-lapse of Ares I-X rocket stacking

The epic effort to assemble a rocket is a spectacle to behold. We've seen the assembly of the Ares I-X rocket at various stages via still photographs, video tidbits and press show and tells over the past few months. But this video, which NASA released this week, captures the entire project in time lapse fashion. It's incredible to watch. We hope you enjoy it.

So beautiful I watched again. I had tears in my eyes knowing that American space programs are laying off. 8 yrs. of republican economics have crashed our hopes for space. Hopefully Obama can salvage our workers, but he is fighting to save Banks, Wall street, the Auto industry, an 47 million without health care. Why if we can go to the moon can't republicans stop ravaging America.

loutefree is either out of touch or just a plain idiot. First, as Mike Griffin just told congress, no president since JFK, Republican or Democrat has given us the money we need to do the job right. Second, it's only because of GWB's vision for space exploration that we have this rocket. I started to work at NASA 3 days before Bush's announcement and sat in the room with the guys who drew the first concept of this rocket on paper - can't wait to see it fly!

Anonymous: You should refrain from name-calling. That said, it must have been very, very cool to be in the room with the guys who drew up the rocket concept......

regards to Anonymous; JFK was a Democrat fighting for America to recover from Republicans of Ike's term. I wasn't in the room with anyone but I remember the nation was out of work and devastated from Ike's tax breaks for the wealthy. Today the Nation is out of work and devastated from Bush Tax cuts, so much so America can't pay for space programs, we are falling behind just like Ike's missile gap....Loutefree
