Live at Cape: Delta IV fueling continues

LIVE IMAGES: The images above are from live video feeds at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, where United Launch Alliance is preparing to launch a Delta IV rocket and a new national weather satellite. The image on the left is from the Air Force 45th Space Wing Weather Channel; on the right is the Delta IV rocket on Launch Complex 37. Update, 3:15 p.m.: The upper stage is being loaded with liquid oxygen propellant.

United Launch Alliance is chilling down fuel lines before beginning to load super-cold liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen into the upper stage of a Delta IV rocket.

The rocket is still targeting a 6:14 p.m. liftoff from Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, carrying a next-generation weather satellite.

A weather update reported that the proximity of anvil clouds currently presents a "red" condition for launch, but that it was expected to clear within 30 to 40 minutes.

Lightning and cumulus cloud build-up had been upgraded to "green" status, meaning no obstacle to the launch.
