Live: Ice growth being checked at the launch pad

NASA is reviewing some ice growing on a liquid hydrogen feed line near the orbiter.

Teams in the Launch Control Center are reviewing some data collected by the final inspection team earlier today during their check of the launch pad.

NASA commentator George Diller says the team believes that it will be OK for the shuttle to launch with the ice there. However, engineers and safety officials might determine that they want to send the ice team back out to the pad to get a closer look and perhaps some more pictures of the site.

We'll keep you posted. Also, you can now watch the live video broadcast to the right. We solved a minor technical glitch that was causing the video to load multiple times. You can now see it playing in the right hand column of the page.
