This just in from Florida Today staff writer Scott Blake:
R. Thomas Buffenbarger, international president of the Machinists union, joined the picket line last week with striking workers at Kennedy Space Center.
Buffenbarger, head of the 730,000-member International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, spoke with strikers on the picket line during a midday visit on Aug. 30.
He and other union officials came over from an International Association of Machinists conference in Orlando that they are attending.

The rally was held just outside Gate 3 at KSC on the edge of the grounds of the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. The union's giant inflatable rat was brought to the site and dozens of strikers were on hand.The union is staffing three picket sites. One is at the north end of SR 3 near Oak Hill and a second is on SR 3 on North Merritt Island. The third picket line is located at the corner of SR 405 and Grissom Parkway. That site is located near the Titusville Police Department and a major United Space Alliance office building.

Think about the yelling at your last meeting about when talks would resume. And now, like magic, the union announces talks will resume. You have been lied to. Think about who you are trusting to tell you the truth. I know most have a disregard for their management,but you better think for yourself on this one.
You heard it here so it MUST be true! The statement above from HR is what they want you to feel . They want us to all scab before they sit down to the table.

unlike USA if the union lies or miss represents its members the member can sue the union if there is no talks and they say there is I'm a rich man now. also the union looses money in a strike no work no dues + strike pay and supplying the line so to say the union wants you to be out is not true tell me how the union gains by the strike and then i will listen to you

The company alread lied to us by telling us that we had no insurance as of the 15th of June when in fact it stayed in effect for 45 days after the strike started. I have reciepts to prove it.
They want us to all scab before they sit down to the table.

We have responded to the company about their offer to return to the bargaining table, and we're in contact with Federal Mediators, and are working now to set a time and date. We'll let you know as soon as possible. Negotiations will be resuming soon.

where is every one.
I am ready for someone to settle this. It is a mess here. Milestones are getting accomplished, but I can see what is not. We are not far away from something messing up big. Someone get them talking soon before we all are out of work because of a catastrophic event.
I second this comment. Something is definitely getting ready to screw up out here. It bothers me.
I third that, bad out here without the IAM workers.
