Jay Barbree of NBC News reports that the White House is about to announce the selection of former astronaut Charlie Bolden as the Obama Administration nominee for the NASA Administrator post.
Bolden, a retired Marine Corps general, is a veteran shuttle pilot and mission commander. He was recommended for the job by U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Orlando, who flew with Bolden on STS-61C in 1986.
The White House is expected to make the announcement at 8:30 a.m.
