This just in from the nation's space agency:NASA's microblog on Twitter, @NASA, has cracked the top 100 by a service that tracks nearly 30,000 accounts.
Twitalyzer.com rated @NASA's influence #88 out of 29,744 tracked Twitter users, just behind country music star Taylor Swift and ahead of pop star Britney Spears, CNN Breaking News microblog, and former Vice president Al Gore.
In fact, NASA is the only federal agency on the list.

On Feb. 16, the agency was selected by socialgovernment.com as among the best in federal government that microblog calling NASA, "an agency that fully understands the meaning of Twitter and social media. @NASA teases press releases and YouTube videos with tweets written by a human, among other things."

And still more: On Feb. 2, NextGov.com cited NASA's popular Internet homepage, www.nasa.gov, as one of five federal government agencies employing best practiuces in Web 2.0 pointing out "each of the agencies responsible for these sites paid careful attention to what their users wanted to see and do online."
