Half a world away, a new International Space Station crew and a tourist making an unprecedented return to the outpost are scheduled to blast off early today from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka, U.S. astronaut Michael Barratt and space tourist Charles Simonyi are scheduled to blast off from the central Asian spaceport at 7:49 a.m., propelling them on a two-day trip to the frontier outpost.

Discovery's departure from the station on Wednesday cleared the way for the launch of the Expedition 19 crew, which is scheduled to arrive at the station at 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
We'll have live coverage of the arrival as well as Discovery's landing at Kennedy Space Center, which is scheduled for 1:42 p.m. that same day.
