Live in Orbit: Crew to inspect heat shield

Discovery's astronauts will perform an orbital inspection of the shuttle's heat shield today as the seven-member crew heads into the home stretch of their International Space Station assembly mission.

Here's a look at the day in space exploration:

6:13 a.m.: Discovery crew wakes up
7:49 a.m.: Expedition 19 launches from Kazakhstan
9:13 a.m.: Shuttle crew unberths orbital inspection boom
10:28 a.m.: Heat shield inspection begins
3:43 p.m.: Stow orbital inspection boom
9:13 p.m.: Crew sleep

Discovery is scheduled to return back to the Kennedy Space Center at 1:43 p.m.

Also today, a new expedition crew along with a space tourist rocketed into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan.
