Photo recap: First wing unfurls smoothly

Spacewalking astronauts Scott Parazynski and Douglas Wheelock took in a little sightseeing as they wrapped up their work outside the International Space Station, pausing long enough to watch the first of two P6 solar wings unfurl.

The deployment went smoothly, with one section after another unfolding like a golden accordion. That was good news considering the crew that delivered the solar array truss to the station in December 2000 had difficulty with the array.

"Looks like they getting the array all the way out in one try," mission specialist Clay Anderson told the spacewalkers as they headed toward the U.S. Quest airlock.

"Wow. That's great," Parazynski said.

Added Wheelock: "Awesome."

"Thanks for the update, Clay," Parazynski said. "That's a good days work right there."
