Redefining research park

Kennedy Space Center, whose plans for a research park took a hit when the Florida Space Authority backed out of the development deal and when NASA decided to slice and dice biological sciences, has redefined the concept. Now the former International Space Research Park near the Visitor Complex is becoming a space technology and commerce park named Exploration Park at John F. Kennedy Space Center. The idea is to lure support companies and exploration-oriented businesses that may serve the crew exploration vehicle and other efforts as the shuttles are phased out. NASA announced today that it would look for development proposals "soon."
