Clock ticking toward climate sats launch

The terminal countdown toward this morning's launch of the Cloudsat and CALIPSO spacecraft has begun. The control team is in place at Vandenberg Air Force Base for what will be the seventh launch attempt in eight days. We're a little under three hours from the planned liftoff time of 6:02 a.m. Weather briefings are coming at the top of the hour. So far, all technical indications are that things are OK for launch. The temperature sensor reading that stopped yesterday's count has been resolved and, for now, the team is comfortable that's a non-issue. Perhaps this will be the lucky day for the patient Delta 2/Cloudsat/CALIPSO team.
