A late countdown glitch forced a delay of at least one day in the planned launch this morning of a Delta 2 rocket from California carrying two NASA spacecraft. For now, launch is reset for 6:02 a.m. Saturday. We'll update you on turnaround plans later today. To learn more about the mission, check out NASA's sites for Cloudsat and Calipso.
Evening update: NASA status report says: "Launch is set for 6:02 a.m. EDT from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Launch commentary on NASA TV starts at 4 a.m. EDT. Today's launch was scrubbed at T-48 seconds due to loss of the primary and backup phone communications between the Mission Directors Center at Vandenberg and the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales Space Command in Toulouse, France. The communications loss is being evaluated."
