Survivor: Dan Barry faces first vote

Astronaut Dan Barry faced his first vote on the reality show Survivor, and he survived. Barry made it through the first two episodes without having to endure a tribal council, where a member of the show's group of island castaways is voted out of the contest for a million dollars. The episode that aired Thursday night was different. Barry's tribe lost its challenges. However, the secret deal made among the four men in the tribe (including Barry) held up. The men chose someone to vote out and they stuck to their original agreement. In the private discussions among other tribe members about who to vote off, Barry got several votes of confidence from fellow castaways who identified him as the most versatile of the group, a teammate who can excel in physical and mental tasks. All this bodes well for Dan's survival for at least a couple more weeks on the show.
