Dropping to the Earth

Steve Fossett and the GlobalFlyer are descending toward landing near London, dropping from more than 50,000 feet to about 25,000 feet within the last hour. The latest official update we've gotten indicates a 2 p.m. Eastern time landing, though an earlier touchdown appears more likely based on the aircraft's heading, speed and altitude. Stay tuned.
