Gantry Rollback Will Unveil Endeavour

NASA now says the earliest retraction of the Rotating Service Structure at Kennedy Space Center's launch pad 39A will be about 8:30 p.m. -- 90 minutes later than planned.

The 10-story gantry had been slated to roll back away from Endeavour at 7 p.m., but as expected, a band of storms swept through the area. The one surprise: Golf ball-sized pieces of hail in Titusville.

Endeavour remained wrapped in its weather protection system and the storm appeared to pass northwest of the launch pad.

Endeavour and its six astronauts remain scheduled for launch at 3:47 p.m. Friday.
