Atlantis' tank on its way to KSC

The external tank for the shuttle mission currently slated for August is rounding the southern tip of the Florida peninsula today after leaving its factory near New Orleans on Monday bound for Kennedy Space Center. The tank is expected to reach the launch site before the end of the week. Designated ET-118, it is the tank that will be attached to twin solid rocket boosters now being stacked inside the Vehicle Assembly Building. Atlantis will be the orbiter. Its mission: resume construction of the International Space Station.
