Discovery Crew Preps For 1st Spacewalk

Discovery's astronauts will gear up today for the first of two spacewalks the crew intends to complete during their visit to the International Space Station -- a journey that marks the orbiter's 39th and final flight.

Mission commander Steve Lindsey and his crew will continue transferring supplies and equipment between Discovery and the international outpost -- a key objective of this 133rd mission of NASA's storied shuttle program.

The astronauts also will take time out of their busy day at 2:43 p.m. for interviews with a variety of news media clients, including The Weather Channel.

You can watch mission operations live here in The Flame Trench. Click the NASA TV box to launch our NASA TV viewer and live coverage of Discovery's final flight.
