NASA previews final flight of Discovery

NASA managers and astronauts today will brief the public and the media on the 133rd shuttle mission and last for Discovery, an 11-day flight targeted to launch Nov. 1.

Here's the lineup of briefings scheduled at Johnson Space Center in Houston, which you can watch live by clicking on the NASA TV box at right to launch a viewer:

9 a.m. Shuttle and International Space Station program overview
10:30 a.m. STS-133 mission overview
1 p.m. STS-133 spacewalk overview
2 p.m. Robonaut 2 briefing
3 p.m. STS-133 crew news conference

Meanwhile at Kennedy Space Center, teams today plan to drain about 1,500 gallons of toxic propellant from Discovery's orbital engine system in preparation for the weekend replacement of a pair of seals to help stem a leak.

NASA executives will meet Monday at KSC to officially set Discovery's launch date.
