Are you a shuttle worker about to be laid off?

Are you a space shuttle worker who is going to be laid off Oct. 1st - or some day in the near future?

If so, FLORIDA TODAY would like to talk to you for an upcoming story about your plans.

Please send us an email at news@floridatoday.com and include your name and a daytime contact phone number. Write "layoffs" in the subject line.

Thank you.

I PLAN ON GETTING A REAL JOB AFTER GETTING LAID OFF! ITS BEEN GREAT FOR 25 YEARS. EASY WORK. GREAT PAY FOR DOING LITTLE & AT TIMES, NOTHING. WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH PAST TECHNOLOGY FOR SO LONG THAT IT MAKES SENSE TO MOVE ON. START OVER AGAIN & MAKE THINGS BETTER. THE SMART ONES SAVED FOR A RAINY DAY KNOWING OUR EASY JOBS WOULD END ONE DAY. THE UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS WILL HELP THE REST GET BY UNTIL THEY FIND OTHER JOBS. NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT US. WE GET MORE SUPPORT FROM OUR EMPLOYERS THAN MOST UNEMPLOYED INCLUDING A CHANCE TO CONTINUE OUR EDUCATION TO MOVE TO BETTER POSITIONS. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT AND ALLOWING ALL OF US TO BE A PART OF OUR NATION'S SPACE PROGRAM.
