Atlantis still "go" for Friday launch

NASA mission managers this morning gave Atlantis a "go" to continue counting down toward a 2:20 p.m. Friday launch.

"Everything is going really, really well on Atlantis and the boosters and the tank and the ground support equipment," said Leinbach, the shuttle flight director. "The team is in great spirits, and we're ready to give it our best shot Friday."

The weather forecast remains 70 percent "go," with a possibility of a low cloud ceiling.

"Overall, the weather looks favorable," said Todd McNamara, shuttle weather officer for the STS-132 mission.

The mission is the 132nd by a shuttle, the 32nd and last planned for Atlantis.
