Summit participants, led by economic/workforce advisers Ed Morrison and Linda Fowler, are breaking into work groups to come up with a strategy to respond to layoffs.
The exercise, called "Strategic Doing," is aimed at linking the resources of various organizations, businesses and community leaders. The goal is to create jobs and other opportunities for the displaced KSC workers.
"We are not consultants. You cannot look to us for answers. The answers are buried somewhere in this room and in Brevard County," Morrison said. "It's about how will we leverage our strengths to accomplish some big ideas."
Participants will come back together at about 12:45 p.m. to share their ideas and an anticipated timeframe on when they can accomplish their goals.
The work groups will cover:
- Growing clusters
- Aerospace
- Talent support network
- Talent Marketing Network
- Talent advancement
- New narratives
- NASA
- Government
- Entrepreneurship
- Aerospace supplies

Again, I am outraged that they are taking all this time for one small group compare the all those whom are out of work right now!
I know one way to ease the pain. Never elect Democrats again.
Maybe all the ex-space workers can find work as economic/workforce advisors. There sure seems to be no shortage of people working on the workforce transition issue.
And the answers are NOT buried deep in Brevard County or in that room. How can someone say that when 10,000 well paid employess working directly or indirectly for the federal govt. are about to be out of jobs? No, the answer to that isn't here.
