
Shuttle pilot Terry Virts was at the controls when the shutters covering the Cupola's seven windows opened up for the first time. Mission specialists Bob Behnken and Nicholas Patrick set the stage for the grand opening by removing thermal insulation and launch locks from the windows during a third and final spacewalk planned during Endeavour's stay at the station.
