No leaks reported yet in fueling test

As of 9 a.m., NASA officials reported no leaks of hydrogen gas during this morning's space shuttle fueling test at Kennedy Space Center.

The loading of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen into Endeavour's external tank has transitioned from a "fast-fill" phase to a topping off phase, which is the time when dangerous leaks srubbed the past two countdowns.

The test began at 7 a.m. and will last until about 10 a.m., but the next roughly 30 minutes is considered the key period to determine if repairs have successfully prevented another gas leak.

That would clear the way for Endeavour to launch next Saturday, July 11, at 7:39 p.m.
