Thunderstorms near Kennedy Space Center are threatening to scrub today's planned 7:13 p.m. launch of space shuttle Endeavour.

"At this time there's not a great deal of optimism that this system would be dissipated or moved out of the area prior to launch time, but we will continue to monitor it," said Mike Curie, a NASA TV commentator based in Firing Room 4 of the Launch Control Center.

A scrub would represent the mission's fourth launch delay since June 13.
