Endeavour crew due at KSC today

Seven astronauts are bound today for the Kennedy Space Center, where NASA is set to launch them aboard space shuttle Endeavour on Saturday evening weather-permitting.

Commander Mark Polansky and his crew will fly from Houston to Florida this afternoon, arriving at the Shuttle Landing Facility around 2 p.m. They'll spend the rest of the week in final training and preparations for a targeted 7:39 p.m. liftoff on Saturday. The current weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain.

Endeavour and its crew are bound for the International Space Station on what is planned to be one of the longest station construction mission to date. The flight is scheduled to last 16 days and includes five spacewalks.

The countdown to Endeavour's launch is set to begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Check back for updates on the crew's arrival.
