NASA plans to countdown to a planned hold at T minus four minutes before deciding whether to proceed with a planned 5:12 p.m. liftoff of an Atlas V rocket and two satellites. A nearby thunderstorm is violating launch criteria at the moment.
Anvil and cumulus clouds that are too close and the possibility of the Atlas V triggering lightning during flight will not allow the liftoff to proceed unless conditions change.
Launch opportunities are also available at 5:22 p.m. and 5:32 p.m.
The hold at T minus four minutes is scheduled to begin shortly and last 20 minutes.
If the launch scrubs, the forecast for Friday is a bit better, with a 70 percent chance of good weather conditions.
