House committee approves reduced NASA budget

This just in from Eun Kyung Kim in FLORIDA TODAY's Washington Bureau:

WASHINGTON - The House Appropriations Committee approved a spending bill today that would reduce funding for NASA's human space exploration program.

Before the panel approved the measure on a voice vote, one chief budget leader repeated a promise he made last week when the cuts were first announced.

Rep. Alan Mollohan, a West Virginia Democrat who oversees the panel that has oversight of NASA's budget, said the reductions were only a "pause, a time out" until a White House panel finishes its review on the spaceflight program.

He also pledged to restore the funds if the panel eventually comes to a positive conclusion about the human spaceflight program.

The spending bill approved today trims about $483 million off the $18.7 billion budget the White House proposed for NASA next year.

Brevard County's congressional Reps. Suzanne Kosmas, D-New Smyrna Beach, and Bill Posey, R-Rockledge, sent a letter yesterday to the committee expressing their concerns over the cuts.

The bill now heads to the full House for a vote, which could come as early as next week.

Back in November, I had a discussion with a few of DNC Brown Shirts concerning Mr. B. Hussein's plan to cut spending on the manned flight program, a promise he made to the NEA while pimping for their votes.

While campaigning if Florida, The Dear Leader told us that he would increase spending. I called it pimping to the crowd, a sign of an empty suit, two faced, pandering politician saying anything to anyone in order to get a vote. A few of The Dear Leaders Sturmabteilungs on this board praised The Dear Leader for being flexible. Nice euphemism for having no principles.

Yes sir, that's what I call Change You Can Deceive In!
