Live in Orbit:: Discovery undocks today



Discovery's astronauts will depart the International Space Station today, winding down their 13-day mission.

With shuttle pilot Tony Antonelli at the controls, Discovery will undock at 3:53 p.m. to begin its trip home. Discovery is due to land back at Kennedy Space Center on Saturday.

This morning's wake-up call was for Antonelli, who has a big day ahead of him. The song: "Dirty Water" by the Standells.

"We're ready to get to work," Antonelli said.

Here are some highlights from today's schedule:
10:53 a.m.: Rendezvous tool checkout.
12:53 p.m.: Farewell and hatch closure.
1:38 p.m.: Hatch leak check.
3:53 p.m.: Discovery undocks from station.
4:18 p.m.: Discovery flyaround of station begins.
5:37 p.m.: Shuttle executes final separation burn from station.
6 p.m.: Mission Status Briefing.
7:43 p.m.: Crew choice video downlink opportunity.
10:13 p.m.: Discovery crew sleep.

After undocking today, Discovery will zoom off on a looping flyaround that will yield the first photos of the space station with all four of its American solar wings unfurled. That should get started around 4:22 p.m.
