Live In Orbit: Soyuz Set To Dock

The Expedition 18 crew and spaceflight participant Richard Garriott are less than four kilometers away and minutes from arriving at the International Space Station.

Their Soyuz TMA-13 is scheduled to connect with the the Zarya module of the Russion segment of the station at 4:38 a.m. That was the first segment of the station launched, nearly 10 years ago.

All systems on the Soyuz and the station are working well, according to flight controllers.

The spacecraft is moving slowly at about three-tenths of a foot per second to make its precise alignment, which will occur about 215 statute miles above Mongolia.

Here are some more details on the Soyuz TMA.

You can watch the docking live right here in The Flame Trench. Just click the NASA TV box on the right side of the page to launch our NASA TV viewer.
