Live: Endeavour reaches pad, Atlantis leaves ISS

Space Shuttle Endeavour has reached the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center after an overnight rollout. Meanwhile, more than 200 miles overhead, space shuttle Atlantis has flown away from the International Space Station.

Pilot Alan Poindexter performed a 45-minute fly-around maneuver of the space station while the shuttle crew photographed the station. The Atlantis undocking came just before 5 a.m., and now the seven-astronaut crew is set to inspect their spaceship before returning home.

The inspection is to begin around 8:20 a.m. Atlantis is scheduled to land at Kennedy Space Center or Edwards Air Force Base in California on Wednesday.

Traveling at 1 mph atop a crawler-transporter, Endeavour made a slow march out to Pad 39A for its launch next month. Endeavour is set to launch March 11 with the first piece of the Japanese science complex.
