Weather is forecast to be 60 percent unfavorable for Atlantis' Thursday launch, while the forecast improves to 80 percent favorable for a Friday liftoff. The forecast is unchanged from Monday.
A front is likely to bring clouds, rain and possible lightning to the launch pad, where Atlantis is ready to carry the European Columbus module to the International Space Station.
With no major technical issues to confront, NASA managers today will meet to approve a flight plan should a kinked Freon hose leak. Also, they will give final approval to repairs made to correct intermittent signals from low-fuel sensors that shut down the engines before the tanks run dry.
Watch The Flame Trench for coverage of NASA briefings today. A Countdown Status Briefing will be held at 10 a.m., and a pre-launch press conference will be held after the Mission Management Meeting this afternoon.
