
Shuttle Atlantis glided to a safe landing at Kennedy Space Center today, capping a mission that opened the International Space Station up to the European Space Agency.
Award-winning FLORIDA TODAY photographer Michael R. Brown was poised along the fenceline about midway down Runway 15 as the shuttle swooped down to the concrete landing strip around 9:07 a.m. today. Fire-rescue teams were at the ready on the side of the runway, too.
