Atlantis moves away from the ISS.
Shuttle Endeavour reached the mid-point in its six-hour roll to launch Pad 39A at 2:30 a.m. at Kennedy Space Center, as Atlantis undocked from the International Space Station about 4:24 a.m. EST
"We just wanted to thank you again for being a great host," shuttle Commander Stephen Frick told ISS Commander shortly before backing Atlantis away.
"It's a great new room you've added on," replied Whitson. "Get Dan (Tani) home safe and thanks."
Atlantis added the 27,000-pound, 500-cubic-meter Columbus module, while Endeavour, which launches March 11, will carry the Japanese Kibo module to the space station.
Atlantis is now moving away from the space station at one-tenth of a foot per second.
"Atlantis departing," said Whitson, and she rang the traditonal bell signifying a departing vessel.
Atlantis will fly around the ISS and then separate for a day of preparing to land. The shuttle will make a 9:06 a.m. Wednesday landing at KSC.
