Live in orbit: Astronauts gear up for spacewalk
American astronauts Dan Tani and Peggy Whitson are suited up in the U.S. Quest airlock at the International Space Station, preparing to head outside the outpost to inspect faulty components designed to keep the starboard solar wing at the complex point at the sun.
Tani and Whitson are running about an hour and 15 minutes ahead of a schedule that called for them to exit the airlock at 6 a.m. EST. Airlock pressurization is under way and the astronauts are poised to begin their excursion about 4:45 a.m. to 5 a.m.
