Live in orbit: Astronaut cautious around array

Spacewalking astronaut Scott Parazynski is carefully cutting his way through a tangled mess of wire that caused the power-producing blanket on the International Space Station's damaged solar wing to rip and ripple earlier this week.

The surgical work is causing the high-voltage array to wave back and forth a bit -- just as it were a sail rippling in a light wind. Parazynski is using an insulated tool that looks like a small hockey stick to defend himself from the blanket -- to make certain it doesn't bounced into him.

"You want to have that hockey stick right in hand," shuttle skipper Pam Melroy said. "That's your best friend."

The spacewalk is just about to reach the four-hour mark.
