Spacewalker Scott Parazynski is rigging up cables that will allow electrical power and data to be routed between the newly installed solar power girder and the International Space Station truss segment it now is attached to.
Mission specialist Douglas Wheelock, meanwhile, has completed fastening the last of four corner bolts connecting the two segments and now will release a capture latch that temporarily linked them.
Crane operators Stephanie Wilson and Dan Tani have been given a "go" to release the P6 solar power girder from the grasp of the station's 57.5-foot Canadian-built robot arm.
"Very good job, guys," said European Space Agency astronaut Paolo Nespoli, the Italian mission specialist directing the spacewalking work from inside the station.
