Discovery lifted into high bay

Discovery is lifted into high bay No. 1, where it will be attached to its external tank and the solid rocket boosters.

The orbiter is expected to be ready to roll out to launch pad 39A on Sunday. Launch is still on schedule for Oct. 23.

Hey crane crew does the orbiter hanging bring back any memories?

Memories, like the cobwebs in the tent.
Memories....of the way we were.
Memories like beer cans scattered by the road,
Nothing more than memories of the way we were.

Listen fool! Have your fun now because Fred said we were close now, remember?
Remember, be strong, we're almost there? Well.....where is there?

sorry for you luck. Looks like USA is hell bent on breaking your union. Actually I was hoping that they would start at the table with the last offer. Honestly I am pretty pissed that they did not at least start there. Pretty obvious they don't give a damn about you folks or the rest of us who have to deal with only two entry gates.

Yes , the orbiter hanging brings back memories of when the Crane Crew used to lift and go over in one day .
Now it's two or thress days for the same task . A streamlined operation for sure .

Still agreat saving in cost with out all the hanger on's.
Could hang a week and be a great saving.
We do not need Fred.

Who is this Fred person? People seem to either hate him or applaud him.

Fred is a loser that lives in the tent.
He spouts off rhetoric his brain is half spent.
He shouts out his cuss words as cars speed right by.
I work at his job with a gleam in my eye.

Fred rules!!! He's a legend.

I don't know who Fred is but he does seem to annoy the heck out of the people that are continually spouting off about how bad the union is.

That is because Fred is always right and they can't stand it.

>>> That is because Fred is always right and they can't stand it.<<<

I hope ya'll all realize that "Fred" is just a anonymous name used on the website by someone who wants to talk trash from the union.
Oh by the way....if FRED is always right...why are you still out there on strike without a contract???

Because Fred said so. You're not real smart are you? We will be back when Fred says its okay.

Fred does not have to worry about dealing with scabs because his shop has stayed strong. This is partially due to his manager's lack of management skills. His manager has created an environment that fosters disdain towards the company and solidarity with his co-workers. Fred has spoken and you have listened.

Go with God and eat lots of tater tots.

Tell the union to make sure they buy a Sunday paper. They are F'd. They, USA, are through negotiating and are hiring 100+ people (through Spheron)to close out the program. Full page add will be in Sunday's paper. Letters of "intent to dismiss" for walking off the job will follow shortly after the add. Can they do that? The answer is yes, and THEY ARE GOING TO! They are busting this union.

Fred is a no-good striker!

The strikers don't even stand out by the road! Theys all huddled in the shelter like mamas boys. God at least stand out and hold a sign. You ain't earning no $150 sitting on your butt. Your not at your job. Have some pride!

Some negotiating committee you got their KSC!! Do any of them have a clue? How bout an education and years of bargaining experience? Nope! Nope!

Sorry Bozo. Sanctioned strike. Can't be replaced. Hang tight all and watch the blog. Don't be a scab now. Don't forget why you walked out. Nothing has changed no matter what these morons try to spread. We can't be busted if we don't allow them to. Crossing will move it in that direction and then you will be as screwed as these goofballs. They want you to cross so they have a fighting chance to take your job.

Democrats on the House Science and Technology Committee, which is charged with oversight of NASA, has given their full backing to the IAM and the strikers of Local Lodge 2061. This is important news, as the support the IAM has brought together is essential for success. We continue to explore every opportunity including discussions with the Federal Mediation Services and all other interested parties, and we are committed to bring this strike to a reasonable and equitable conclusion for our members.

DBR Johnny Walker has a message for all strikers: Companies often use the threat of permanent replacements at the end of a strike to drive as many workers as they can across the picket lines to increase the bargaining power of the company. Don't fall for it - your Solidarity has gotten us to this point, where we can win this strike. Don't let the company's obvious ploy shake you. Remember, it seems this company was sure you'd fall apart from day one, and they've been wrong. They are STILL wrong.

When you read the blogs and see the length of this strike I do not see any strength in this IAM.
Where is the strength the ability too loose 14 weeks pay?
Now that is a real no brainer how much training and years on the job too pick up that skill level.
Union proud any one can decide to walk off the job and not too go to work that is another no brainer.

Dude, what are you twelve? Grab a grammar book before posting propaganda. We are supposed to be the uneducated ones.

The IAM today released a letter from Democratic members of Congress that has been delivered to the United Space Alliance CEO. Those congress people signing the letter include Mark Gordon, Chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, and Mark Udall, Chairman of the House Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee, and members from both committees. The letter strongly urges United Space Alliance to return to the bargaining table to seek a fair resolution to the contract dispute.

It's nice to see that we have representatives in Congress who will stand up and put their names on the dotted line to ensure a resolution to this strike
