Space Station 'Techno-Whoops'

Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski may have coined the first new space-age term since, well, since the Space Age. Her ground-breaking term: 'techno-whoops.'

Mikulski came up with the term during a Senate appropriations hearing Wednesday. She used it to describe the International Space Station given the very real possibility that the U.S. will have difficulty staffing the orbiting laboratory once the shuttle fleet is retired in 2010.

"How are we going to get to the station?" Mikuslki asked. "We've got this fantastic machine (built) at tremendous costs. Is this going to be a 'techno-whoops?'

A quick Google search of the Internet came up with many "techno" phrases such as "techno-idiot," "techno-dweeb" and even "techno pow wow." But there was no listing for "techno-whoops." Congratulations Senator Mikulski.
