An Atlanta engineering firm has released a white paper that explores whether the U.s. military in fact has the technology that would have been required to design, develop and fly the supposed "Blackstar" orbital spaceplane.
The existence of such a vehicle was speculated upon in a recent and controversial article in the trade journal Aviation Week and Space Technology.
