The shutdown of NASA's shuttle program combined with President Obama's plan to cancel Project Constellation is going to trigger as many as 23,000 job losses on Florida's Space Coast -- an outlook much bleaker than previous estimates, local government officials say.NASA and its contracts now expect a direct loss of 9,000 jobs at Kennedy Space Center as a result of the proposed 2011 budget, which would ax Constellation, NASA's effort to develop Ares rockets and Orion spacecraft for missions to the moon.
