Falcon 9 engines cut off early; second test possible today

A SpaceX Falcon 9's engines cut off prematurely during a test this afternoon because of a high chamber pressure.

The nine first-stage Merlin engines lit but cut off at T minus 1.1 seconds because of a high chamber pressure reading in Engine No. 6.

The engines were supposed to fire at full power for two seconds.

Another test firing could be performed as soon as 3 p.m. EST at Cape Canaveral Air Force Stations' Launch Complex 40.

A successful next test should keep the rocket on track for a planned Tuesday launch.

Wow, an delay for the savior of the Space Program. I thought Elon and the boys in the private sector could do no wrong.

Elon never said that. Neither have any of his supporters. Any SpaceX follower knows that they have had their share of failures. However, they bounce back quick, learn, and get flying again... and for a heck of a lot less money with a heck of a lot fewer people and bureaucracy. Go SpaceX!!!!!
