Obama plans major space policy speech here

Today's NASA briefing yielded a few more details on President Barack Obama's visit here on April 15.

He'll "have some private moments" with lawmakers and deliver a "major space policy speech," NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said today.

Obama will try to "convince everybody that 'I put more money into the budget. I said over and over I'm a big fan of human spaceflight. I don't know how to say it any clearer,'" Bolden said.

The president will also set up four panel discussions for experts to discuss space priorities. The guest list is not set yet, but it will include commercial spaceflight developers, scientists, engineers, academics.

Bolden said the goal will be to "cover a lot of ground."

"It is my sincere hope that the KSC workers, their families, and all the communities in Brevard and Florida line the roadways leading into the meeting site by the thousands and let Obama and his cronies know just how they feel about his killing America’s Human Space Flight Program. Be seen and be heard folks!"

Charlie Bolden won't be remembered in history as a shuttle astronaut or a general in the military, but as the NASA administrator that carried out Obama's plan to end America's Human Space Flight Program.

I don't know how that man can look his fellow astronauts and all the aerospace workers in the eye when he walks the halls of the different space centers.

Let´s hope he confirms the findings of the Enterprise Mission Cydonia studies. NASA´s secrecy and lies must end!

History will not remember Charlie Bolden for being a shuttle astronaut or a general in the military. He will be remembered for being the NASA Administrator who carried out Obama's will in killing America's Human Space Flight Program and harming our country and thousands of families. I don't know how he can look the other astronauts or aerospace workers in the eye without shame when he walks the halls of the various space centers.
Remember, this is America's Human Space Flight, your jobs, and your communities survival at stake. It's up to you to take a stand and line the streets going into KSC on April 15th showing Obama and Bolden what you think of their actions. Be there, be seen, and be heard!

The goal will be: "to cover a lot of ground." In other words, Obama will say things like:

We need human spaceflight. It inspires kids to get good grades in school. It let's us all know what this country's all about: overcoming challenges and achieving great things.

In 20 years I'd like to see America working on a manned Mars mission. That should be one of our goals. But as we all know, lunar missions are certainly stepping stones towards that. So we need to work on that.

Blah, blah, blah.

Charlie Bolden has done a great job and so have all the other men and women of NASA. They inspire greatness. Thanks to them we're learning more about the environment, and especially the impact of global warming, which we should all be concerned about.

[insert further platitudes here--whatever you'd like to hear]

END

I hope its not like that, but Obama is the letdown president. BIG talk, flashy style, total airhead.

Attendance at the event is being tightly controlled by the White House. Approximately 200 "experts" will attend, and all who are being invited agree or only mildly disagree with his "vision" for NASA. By carefully selecting the "experts" the results of this meeting will be predetermined just as was done with the Augustine Committee. NASA is being micro-managed by OSTP and OMB with the full complicity of the senior political appointees within the agency. The only hope for a compromise rests with the Congress and Senate.

What he can't "control" is thousands of Brevardians lining the roads leading into the KSC gates protesting. Show up and be heard on April 15th.

Tightly controlled attendance means photo op and propaganda moment. Count on more unemployed people and malfeasance with tax dollars. Probably re-task NASA on a global search to try to find evidence of "global warming" and more expensive ways to send money to fund Russian and Chinese space efforts.

You can line the streets but don't be surprised if the so called "law enforcement" thugs sweep the streets clean in the name of "security".

"Resistance is futile, Your life as it has been, is over. From this time forward, you will service us," Obamacus of Borg

Can't we have faith in Obama, he was elected by the people and I have no doubt he will do all that he can to help the future of human spaceflight, but back when Bush announced the new initiative, we couldn't have known the economy would have gone belly up.

Law enforcement would have a tough time moving thousands of peaceful demonstrators were lining the road leading into KSC.

Hopefully there will be thousands lining the roads. After all, this is Brevard County's survival at stake and they need to be there to fight for it.
