NASA plans to start a news conference at 3:30 a.m. here at Kennedy Space Center to discuss this morning's scrubbed launch, the second for Endeavour in five days.
The agency has already announced that July 11 is the next targeted launch date, ruling out the possibility of trying to launch a shortened mission this weekend.
The crew of Endeavour's STS-127 mission, led by commmander Mark Polansky, plans to fly back to Houston this morning.
Managers will likely discuss how they plan to solve a problem with launch pad equipment that has now scrubbed three of the last five shuttle countdowns.
During fueling of the external tank, gaseous hydrogen is escaping at potentially dangerous levels at a valve connecting a vent line to the tank. The launch was officially scrubbed at 1:55 a.m.
