Watch live: Augustine panel's first meeting

BLOGGER NOTE, 10:31 a.m.: NASA TV has worked out its problems and the public hearing is being broadcast once again. The majority of the segment on Project Constellation was unfortunately not broadcast. A European Space Agency rep is now discussing plans for the utilization of the International Space Station.

BLOGGER NOTE, 10 a.m.: NASA TV is having technical difficulties, and the public hearing is not being broadcast at this point as a result. NASA says the problem is expected to be fixed in short order.

The presidential panel assigned to study the future of NASA's human spaceflight program conducts its first meeting today, starting at 9 a.m.

Here's a look at the agenda:

++9 a.m.: Introduction and opening remarks.

++9:20 a.m.: Summary of past studies.,

++9:30 a.m.: NASA's Constellation Program.

++10 a.m.: International Space Station partner discussions (European
Space Agency and Roscosmos).

++11 a.m.: Authorization bills and congressional perspective.

++Noon: Public comment period.

++12:30 p.m.: Lunch break.

++1 p.m.: Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle considerations.

++2 p.m.: Other commercial launch capabilities, including NASA Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) Program; SpaceX COTS program status; Orbital COTS program status International Space Station commercial resupply services process and
status.

++3:30 p.m.: Alternative architectures: Direct; sSpace shuttle side-mount options.

++4:30 p.m.: Public comment period.

++5 p.m.: Meeting adjourned.

Following the meeting, Augustine will answer questions from the news media from approximately 5:05 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
