The launch team has just given the go for Atlantis and seven astronauts to launch today.
"It's a great day to go fly," Mike Leinbach called out to the astronauts aboard Atlantis. They remain set to lift off from Kennedy Space Center at 2:01 p.m.
From the whole crew Mike I just want to say thank you. It's been a long time coming. It took the work of the entire team across the entire country," Commander Scott Altman said.
Moments later, Leinbach told Altman, "Enjoy the ride pal."
Technicals issues have been resolved and, for now, a cloud forming north of the launch pad appears to not be a constraint to blasting off on time.
