The focused inspection of the right orbital maneuvering system pod has begun. An insulation blanket on the pod is slightly torn. A similiar tear was fixed with a surgical stapler during STS-117 this summer.
The ripped seam in the OMS pod insulation blanket is similar to a tear that was repaired with a surgical stapler this summer during STS-117.
The tear compares to a rip seen during STS-117 this summer.
