The closeout crew is leaving the launch pad and the astronauts will soon be the only people within a mile of the launch pad.

A rescue team will be the nearest humans after that, waiting in case they're needed to help the astronauts escape Pad 39A in the event of an emergency.

We're about one hour from launch and everything is on track for a 2:45 p.m. liftoff. There have been no show-stopping technical issues all day. The early-morning fueling went off without a hitch, and the repaired fuel sensors are performing perfectly.

Weather watchers are spotting showers to the west of the launch complex. They're within 50 miles right now. If they're within 20 miles of the pad at launch time, then NASA can't fly today. The weather continues to be watched very closely.
